What does “on-device” actually mean?
Your microphone audio is converted to text by a speech model that ships inside the app and runs on your CPU or GPU. The audio is never uploaded, streamed, or copied anywhere we control. Air-gapped machines transcribe exactly the same as connected ones.
If the app is on-device, why does it need a subscription?
The transcription engine is yours; the right to use it is what your subscription pays for. The app contacts our API only to confirm your account is active — that’s the entire network footprint. No audio, no transcripts, no usage data.
How does the free trial work?
Your card is collected upfront but not charged during the 3-day trial. Cancel anytime before the trial ends and you pay nothing. The trial is one-per-customer.
Lifetime — really lifetime?
One payment of $139, then every future Lven Instant release on every platform we ship, with no renewal charge and no expiry. If we ever discontinue Lven, the version you have keeps working — the subscription check transitions to no-op.
Can I switch plans?
Yes. Upgrade from 6-month to 1-year, or jump straight to lifetime — remaining balance is prorated. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal.
Does one subscription cover all my devices?
Yes. One Lven Instant subscription works across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iPhone simultaneously. No per-device fees. Note: Lven Cloud and earslate are separate products with their own subscriptions — an Instant subscription does not include them.
Will I be logged out unexpectedly?
No. Once your device is paired and you’re signed in, the app stays signed in until you explicitly sign out. The periodic subscription check uses cached credentials — it does not invalidate your session.
Who processes my payment?
Payments are handled by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle issues your receipt, handles tax, and any refund request goes to them. Your contract for the product itself is with ClassEve Private Limited.
What if I want the cloud version instead?
Lven Cloud — the original cloud-powered build — is still available with its own pricing at /releases/lven/cloud/pricing. Pick it if your hardware sits below the on-device floor or you specifically prefer the cloud trade-off.
